HIMALAYAN TREKS + VILLAGE WALKS

The concept of the Village Walks is to facilitate an authentic ‘underfoot’ experience and provide a ‘snapshot’ of rural life in the Himalayan mountains of Uttaranchal, northern India.  The walks traverse the terraced foothills with overnight ‘homestays’ in various village homes.  As an honoured guest, the locals are keen to share their way of life with you so you can encounter life as it is.  Accommodation is basic although clean and comfortable, but does not detract from the authenticity of the experience.  Any shortcomings are more than compensated for by the genuine warmth of your hosts.

BASE CAMP EVEREST

Everest ! The mountain that has captivated the imagination of our race since that day when a surveyor burst into the office of the Surveyor-General of India with the news that he had discovered the world’s highest mountain! Sacred to both Hindus as well as Buddhists, this mountain now has acquired modern lore of its own, of heroic feats and tragic episodes …

Walk with “Indian Dreams” the route to the base camp of Mt. Everest, the world’s highest mountain at 8848m / 29028ft! Straddling the border of Nepal and Tibet, this mountain stands its solid and squat shape beside its neighbors Mts. Lhotse and Nuptse. This route is the most famous of all trekking routes in the world, and goes through some of the most stupendous landscapes anywhere…this is a region where superlatives start failing to describe that magic of a phenomenon that draws people of all kinds.

Here’s a chance to have the experience of a lifetime……... Walk with “Indian Dreams” to the Base Camp of Everest.

We arrive into the exotic city of Kathmandu, capital of the erstwhile Himalayan kingdom of Nepal and fly to Lukla from where we begin our trek. This route through the Khumbu region goes up the Valley of Dudh Kosi river, through forests of rhododendron and pine, passing quaint Sherpa villages and remote Buddhist monasteries and over some high mountain passes. En route, we get spectacular views of Mounts Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Lhotse and Everest itself. Our route will directly take us to Kalapathar and the Base Camp itself, from where we would get grand views of the phantasmagoria of the Khumbu glacier and the Western glacial valley.
